Good News: A Personal Accomplishment
Published on • Juan Luis
I got a job offer! That’s the good news. About three months ago, I wrote an entry detailing how tough the job market was, so landing this role feels like a major accomplishment. I wrote that post not only to explain the current market’s difficulty but also to motivate myself—which actually worked. After that, I shifted my mindset to be more positive. At the same time, I was working on my Master’s thesis, which I submitted two weeks ago! Things are definitely looking good.
Throughout June, I went through the application process and several rounds of interviews until I finally succeeded and received an official job offer. I officially started on July 1st, and I’m really excited about what I’m about to accomplish. I truly enjoy the company culture and the team I’m working with; this is just the beginning of a new chapter. There are so many things to learn and problems to solve. To anyone reading this: don’t give up, and stay consistent. If something isn’t working, find a way to improve it; otherwise, you’ll keep getting the same results—something so obvious, yet often overlooked.
I’m also happy to share that, as I mentioned, I have finished my MSc in Software Engineering and am currently waiting for my diploma and grades. Over the past few months, I’ve learned a lot, both professionally and personally. At the end of the day, I will continue learning from my experiences, whether they are good or bad.
What are my next steps? Well, I have a clear idea of what I’m looking for. Naturally, I want to grow, do my best, and deliver high-quality results in my new role. I’m also aiming to start learning German and continue improving personal projects like the Watch Next web app. Additionally, I want to start experimenting with mobile application development. As you can see, I’m planning quite a bit; the goal is to never settle, but to keep learning and growing constantly.
I hope these entries motivate at least one person. If you are currently searching for a job, or know someone who is, feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn or Send me an email directly. I’m not an expert, but I can share my experience in more detail and offer tips on your applications. Anyway, this was supposed to be a short entry sharing the good news. By the way, I’m planning to implement a newsletter so anyone subscribed can receive email notifications when I publish a post (for the few, or the one person reading this 😅). Without further ado, until next time!
